Colts 10s

CRFC Colts Invitational 10’s Tournament 2013

The tournament format will be a round robin, with the 2 teams with the most Match Points progressing to the Cup Final and the other 2 teams playing in the Plate Final. Teams will score match points as follows:

4 for a win

2 for a draw

1 for getting 4 tries in a match

1 for losing with a margin of 7 or less points (e.g. 27-20)

If teams are tied on points then the following is applied to rank the teams until a clear winner is established:

1.       Most points ‘for’

2.       Most tries

3.       Biggest overall points ‘for’ and ‘against’ difference

4.       Race-off: 1 front row player from each tied team – full length of the pitch sprint.

5.       Coaches fight to the death

All rugby and time allowed to be played will be in accordance with the RFU Continuum and only IRB approved body protection bearing the IRB approval mark is allowed.

·         10 minute halves

·         5 minutes half-time break

·         Unlimited substitutions. Subs to happen prior to restarts of play with Refs consent (i.e. immediately after award of scrum, lineout, drop-kick, 22 drop-out and conversion attempts).

Please hand in your registration forms to Des at the Coaches’ meeting.  Click here to download a team registration form.

The team sheets must be completed and include each player’s date of birth and RFU Id number. No teams can play overage players. Forms should be handed in to the registration control tent signed by the respective team manager / coach, together with any monies owed (as detailed on the Team Registration Form sent earlier).

Each team is to provide one ref to officiate over neutral matches. Please support and respect them in the tough job they have volunteered to do.  The referee is the sole arbiter of fact on the pitch – whether or not you agree, the referee’s decision is final.  We would politely ask that coaches and parents respect this and behave accordingly – open and persistent criticism of the referee, either on the pitch or from the side lines, will not be tolerated under any circumstances. If you have any serious concerns please raise your concerns with the Tournament Coordinator after the match.

Map for the club can be found here

There is parking at the club, though this may still be full as the Minis and Juniors finish at 12:00.  There is more car parking and parking for buses at The High Weald Academy (formerly Angley School) which is just 200 yards further along the A229 from CRFC.  It is clearly signposted and shares the same entrance as a sports centre - DO NOT park at the sports centre.  You are also allowed to park along the A229 near the club but you must not park with wheels on the pavement and only park on one side of the road (side nearest the club).  When parking please be considerate and ensure you:

·         DO NOT obstruct the club access for emergency services

·         DO NOT obstruct drives of the homes nearby

·         DO NOT block in anyone else

Please heed all the above advice as the police have been very strict recently!

Hot and cold refreshments, food (BBQ) and beer available over the day.

Please ensure belongings are kept safe.  Cranbrook RFC cannot accept responsibility for any losses.

A pitch inspection will take place on Saturday 13th April. Should it be necessary to call the tournament off because of weather or ground conditions then we will be able to tell you by 4pm on the Saturday by email and posting on the CRFC Colts website. If you do not hear anything then you should assume that the tournament is going ahead.

Each club will be given a black bin bag at registration – please use them! Help us keep the site tidy and return the bin bags containing your group’s litter to the Clubhouse prior to leaving – thank you.

We hope everyone has a great time!
