U9 The challenge for this age group is to ensure a smooth transition from Tag rugby to the first stages of the full contact game. We work mainly on tackling skills, ruck and maul techniques as well as the usual ball handling and positioning drills. We have a full program of Skills Development Days, competitive matches and tournaments throughout the season. The Rugby Continuum for 2009/2010 sets out the rules and regulations for the U9s.
The emphasis throughout is for the boys and girls to enjoy their rugby while at the same time learning the basic skills and gaining an aptitude for the game. To reflect and understand the Laws of the game plus view the current Club Policies and Codes of Conduct please click on the Club Policies page. There is a wealth of information to help you enjoy your time at Cranbrook RFC whether you are a member or just visiting. Please take the time to view the links there and gain a better understanding of those laws that relate to this age group in particular. Training sessions and games at home will be at the club every Sunday morning from 10.00-12.00.
Essential Admin
1. Please ensure you register as club members and get subs paid as soon as possible. (click here for the membership form)
2. All players need to register with the RFU. If your player is not registered with the RFU, they are not covered by insurance and are therefore ineligible to play in any competitive matches. We need the parent of every child who already registered to complete the RFU form (get one at the club house bar). Apologies if you have done this before but we must assume by now that your previous form has been lost by the RFU (!).

If you're not getting the weekly email and you have already given us your email address, then:
1. Check your spam / junkmail folders - modern filters often screen them out. If they are there, use the "not junk mail" options and/or add us to your "safe senders list"
2. If there are none there then we may have the incorrect email address for you due to typos or hard to read hand writing! Please click here to send us the right email address.
